About Us

blues.org

Our mission is to celebrate blues performance, and expand awareness of the blues as a uniquely American art form in the state of New Hampshire, in order to preserve our country’s blues heritage.

The Granite State Blues Society (GSBS) is a grassroots organization that is volunteer driven with the work we do coming from our love of the blues.  Each year the GSBS holds a “blues challenge” that sends the winning participants in the band, solo/duo and youth categories to the International Blues Challenge (IBC) in Memphis, TN.  Other events include our annual Barnful of Blues Festival with proceeds donated to the Webster House of Manchester, NH.  In 2016, GSBS made a commitment to support blues education in New Hampshire with our “Blues in the Schools” (BITS) program.  The program is conducted by professional music educators and offers music workshops, education and performances.
